The national total hip and knee replacement COE facilities are:  

• The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, NY;
• Dartmouth-Hitchcock Orthopaedics at New London Hospital in New London, NH; 
• Atrium Health Mercy in Charlotte, NC;
• The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, OH;
• Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL
• University Hospitals with two locations in Ohio – UH Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland, OH and UH Conneaut Medical Center in Conneaut, OH
• Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

All COE facilities are highly ranked for quality in total joint replacement by organizations like The Joint Commission and U.S. News & World Reports.

Coverage: 100% coverage (GE Health Benefits after annual deductible for Option 3, GE Health Choice after annual deductible for Option 2 & Option 3) for eligible employees, pre-65 retirees and their dependents enrolled in GE Health Benefits, GE Health Choice or the Aetna Global Plan. GEMB and HCP members are not eligible for this benefit.
Travel: If you live more than 100 miles from your selected COE, you are eligible for up to $2,000 in qualified travel and lodging expenses.

How do I get started?
Contact Health Coach from GE to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria for the program. Health Coach will connect you to the COE facility and enroll you in the program after clinical review. Any visits to the COE facility, participating providers, or diagnostic tests (e.g. labs, x-rays, MRI, CT) prior to program enrollment will NOT be covered.
