Overview


Optum Behavioral Health administers behavioral health and substance use benefits for all GE Health Benefits plans.

Optum offers a large network of psychiatrists, psychologists, certified addiction counselors, social workers, hospitals and treatment centers.  In addition, there may be substance use Centers of Excellence (COEs) available.
 

Plan Details

Outpatient and In-patient hospitalizations 
For covered services, you'll pay 20% coinsurance in-network and 40% coinsurance out-of-network after deductible has been met, up to your out-of-pocket limit.

Medical necessity
Medical necessity and place of treatment appropriateness are determined by the Claim Administrator.  It is recommended you consult with your claims administrator to ensure "medical necessity" is met and services are covered. For services delivered by an out-of-network provider, a pre-authorization is highly recommended.

Coordination with Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
If you or your dependents need any type of behavioral health or substance use treatment, contact Health Coach from GE at 1-866-272-6007 to access your EAP benefits first. Through the EAP, you may be eligible for certain services, including short-term behavioral health treatment, at no cost to you. If you need additional treatment, your EAP counselor will refer you to providers within the treatment network.
